How to fuel on a long ride with limited bottles

Ever had the issue of bonking when out on a long ride because you couldn’t take enough bottles of Produrance sports drink? We have put together some handy tips on how to deal with this issue and make sure you stay adequately fuelled and hydrated.

  1. Take one Concentrated Bottle and one water only bottle.

Combine 3-4 hours of Produrance into one bottle. This will make the bottle highly concentrated. Throughout the ride sip slowly on the concentrated bottle while using the bottle full of water to wash the concentrate down. When you stop you can easily refill the water bottle and continue to ride without having to measure and mix another bottle of Produrance.

  1. Use Produrance Energy Gels

1 Produrance Energy Gel is equivalent to 1 serve of Produrance Sports drink. Consuming between 1-3 Produrance Energy Gels per hour depending on your energy/electrolyte demands will give you all your required nutrition while allowing you to drink water throughout your ride. You can quickly and easily fill your bottles up with water when you stop. Checkout our range of Produrance Energy Gels 16 Pack here.

  1. Carry Produrance in a small container

Pre-measure the quantity you require into a small container, which you can then quickly pour and mix into your water bottle when you stop to refill. Checkout our handy Powder Container which is perfect for this use.

  1. Use 800ml Bottles instead of 650ml

If you know you are going to a long ride use 800ml bottles instead of 650ml bottles. This will allow you to carry a greater amount of Produrance and water therefore allowing you to fuel and hydrate yourself for longer.

  1. If all else fails carry Extra Bottles

You can purchase bottle holders that attach onto your seat post/saddle, which allow you to carry 2 extra bottles. This is great for long ride when you don’t have a chance to stop and refill bottles.

I hope these tips have helped solved your long ride bottle issues!
